Άκου τον δίσκο και αν βρεις μέτριο κομμάτι εδώ στείλε μου e-mail. Οι τύποι δεν παίζονται !Απ το Va'eira  (για να μην ξεκινήσω απ το εξώφυλλο ) μέχρι το Petrichor είναι ακριβώς αυτό που θέλει ο Blackmetal Banger.  Θυμίζουν πολύ Mgla με ολίγη hardcore αισθητική στον απόηχο. Απολαυστικοί!

Έχουμε να κάνουμε με δυο θηριώδεις μπάντες : από την μια Krawwl με τις Post Black τεχνικές στον κορμό και τα υψίφωνα φωνητικά και από την άλλη οι Barshasketh  με πιο τραχύ και σαρωτικό ήχο . Κοινός παρονομαστής είναι η πομπώδης ατμόσφαιρα και  η συνάντηση  μοντέρνου- παραδοσιακού.  Η νίκη ίσως κριθεί στα σημεία.

We are facing two fierce bands .At first, the Krawwl with the Post Black techniques and the high-type vocals and the other side Barsaketh hard and devastating sound. Their common ground is the majestic atmosphere and the combination of traditional and modern. The details will show the winner.

It starts. Chaotic as I expected. A sort of old style hardcore mixed with stop&go powerviolence (I love it).
Bicycle Terror are the ashes of Matando Güeros -sadly- split up.
At I'm Angry, You're Lazy the work is still not repetitive.
Since this work was released i loved it but still waiting for something new.
The tea and powerviolence are finished too and I can say for sure it made my day again.
The band support every anarchist battle, from antisexism to noborders ones.

Only two tracks in length (though they are lengthy tracks at 18:29 and 20:52), yet Cuscuta gets their message across perfectly. With hauntingly powerful black metal, Cuscuta tells a dark tale of how mankind has become separated from nature. The mournful cries of Evergreen are even more poignant due to the fact that his other Rocky Mountain Black Metal project, Evergreen Refuge, is completely instrumental. This welling of dissatisfaction with civilization—and mankind’s separation from the natural world—burst out of him, creating a new project to express this anger, frustration, and sorrow.
Samples from John Zerzan are aptly used to highlight these themes:
“I’d like to see a gigantic project of dismantling. Of just getting rid of all this stuff and tearing up the freeways and roads and just getting rid of all this stuff that rests on the destruction f nature—that separates us from the natural world—that has people on this treadmill to constantly work and constantly consume. . . ”
The songs move between the ominous atmospheres of the softer sections and the harsh distorted blasts of the lengthy black metal sections (and even some more doomy parts) seamlessly and without disrupting the overall mood. Occasionally a more melodic section will come along, yet it’s always appropriately dark. Evergreen really focused his dark mood for this album. Nothing seems out of place.

Ο τελευταίος δίσκος της ταλαντούχας τετράδας από την Καλιφόρνια και κατά τη γνώμη μου ο καλύτερός τους, αλλά και μια από τις καλύτερες κυκλοφορίες του περασμένου χρόνου. Ακόμα πιο έντονος post πειραματικός ήχος, epic ατμόσφαιρα, noise στοιχεία και τον Harry Cantwell (drums) να παίζει παπάδες σε όλο το δίσκο. Στιχουργικά πρόκειται για ένα ακόμα περήφανο δείγμα της μητροπολιτικής σουρεάλ θλίψης στο οποίο μας σύστησαν μπάντες όπως οι Latlos και οι Deafheaven και σε αυτό συμβάλλει και το ψαρωτικό (ακόμα και για αμερικάνικο bm) εξώφυλλο που αποτελεί ένα κολάζ από τους στίχους του δίσκου.  Η παραγωγή έχει γίνει από τον Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Downfall of Gaia, Fathomless κλπ.) Χαρακτηριστικό του δίσκου είναι ότι τα κομμάτια ρέουν πωρωτικά χωρίς σκαμπανευάσματα, με το καλύτερο κατ' εμέ "Washerwoman" να βρίσκεται στη μέση του album χωρίς να αποτελεί όμως κορύφωση. Το ευφυέστατο στιχουργικά και μουσικά "The Most Modern Staircase" είναι το καλύτερο τέλος για ένα τέτοιο δίσκο. Για τους οπαδούς σχημάτων όπως οι Ash Borer, Deafheaven και Krallice.

The latest album of the talented 4-piece act from California and in my opinion their best one so far and also one of the best releases of the last year. Even more intense post experimental sound, epic atmosphere, noise elements and Harry Cantwell (drums) kicking ass throughout the album. Lyrically speaking it's another fine example of urbal surrealistic grief to which we got introduced by bands like Lantlos and Deafheaven and with the the funny looking (even for an usbm album) cover, which is essentially a collage of the album's lyrics, contributing to this. The album was produced by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Downfall of Gaia, Fathomless etc.) The outstanding characteristic of this album is that all its songs rage on without ups and downs with the best (imo) song of the album "Washerwoman" proudly standing in the middle of it, without being its climax though. The lyrically and musically brilliant "The Most Modern Staircase" is the best ending for such an album. For the fans of bands like Ash Borer, Deafheaven and Krallice.

Οι Grafvitnir είναι μια μπάντα με πολλές προοπτικές. ‘Eχουν πολύ ωραία έμπνευση και θεματολογία, χάνουν λίγο όμως στην Black Metal φιλοσοφία. Θα προτιμούσα τον δίσκο πιο τραχύ και βρώμικο .Οι σουηδοί είναι πάντα  τεχνικοί με όποιο είδος του μεταλ και αν  καταπιαστούν και το ίδιο συμβαίνει εδώ. Τελειώνοντας,  αν θες Gorgoroth  με λίγη περισσότερη μελωδία ,θα ενθουσιαστείς πάντως.

The Grafvithir is a band full of potential. They have great inspiration and themes, but they lack at the philosophy of Black Metal. I would prefer this album a little more rough and vicious. Swedish are always ahead in the technique of Metal that are up to and the same happens here. For the end, if you are into Gorgoroth with more rhythm, you will definitely get excited.

Από την Γερμανία  ξεπετάγονται καθημερινά Black Metal ταλέντα από. Η Rimruna είναι ένα από τα πιο λαμπρά παραδείγματα. Χειμωνιάτικα ψυχροί με speed –άριστες συνθέσεις και δανεισμένη ατμόσφαιρα από το videoclip  Blashyrkh των Immortal  χωρίς να πιθηκίζουν πάνω στους τελευταίους. Βάλε τώρα  και φωνητικά που θυμίζουν Ghaal και η τήξη των πάγων δεν εμποδίζεται από τίποτα.  

On daily basis you have new Black Metal talents from Germany. The Rimruna is one of the brightest examples. Cold as the winter with speed – perfect compositions and borrowed atmosphere from the videoclip “Blashyrkh” of the Immortal, without copying them. Add vocals that remind Ghaal and the melting of the ice does stop at all.

Come back with another Italian band: Ierru. True RABM with a peculiar characteristic: they sing in Sardinian dialect - Ierru means winter in Sardinian - , an ancient and beautiful language totally different from Italian. Fortunately they deicided to spread the full-lenght with free download, so you can appreciate it in all its cultness. A rare bomb of raw black metal, occult and technical.
For fans of Immortal, Satyricon, French and Norwegian Black Metal.
Highly recommended.

Ο μυθικός γίγαντας Aurvandil επιτέλους μεγάλωσε και δεν χρειάζεται την φροντίδα κανενός Thor πια. Έφτασε η στιγμή του. Το Thrones είναι η αιχμή του δόρατος. Γιγαντόκορμες και ώριμες συνθέσεις που παραβιάζουν τον ορθόδοξο  Black Metal ήχο. Ραδιουργούν ,βγάζοντας μελωδικότητα  χωρίς να χρησιμοποιούν ηλεκτρονικά στοιχεία. Το τονικό κέντρο όμως, παραμένει σταθερά ακραίο και σε κάνει να χαμογελάς πονηρά. Τέλος, δοκίμασε την επιτηδευμένη μούχλα της παράγωγης για επιδόρπιο. Στους Θρόνους κάθονται Black Metal τέρατα και όχι ηλίθιοι νάνοι.

The legendary giant Aurvandil finally grew up and doesn't need any Thor's care anymore.It's about time.Thrones is the spearhead.Huge and mature composition that violate the orthodox Black Metal sound.They intrigue by being melodic and without using electronic  elements.The tonic center though remains steadily extreme and makes you smirk.Finally,try the elaborate mold of the production for dessert.Black Metal monsters are sitting on the thrones and not any stupid dwarfs.

Όταν βλέπεις το εξώφυλλο αυτής της μπάντας ή το image της καταλαβαίνεις πως πρόκειται για ευρωπαϊκή φουρνιά. Επίσης ,ένας αταβισμός της νορβηγικής σκηνής «κουρνιάζει» εδώ παρόλο ,που ένας  νεωτεριστικός αέρας έχει ποτίσει αυτό τον δίσκο.  Πωρώνεσαι με τα Thrash δυσαρμονικά ακόρντα όπως και με το σκοτεινιασμένο βαρύ ύφος. Μπορεί ,να ανταγωνίζονται ποιος θα  ξεχωρίσει αλλά ,τα κοφτά φωνητικά του HansFyrste (Βλέπε Ragnarok) κλέβουν την παράσταση .Αν δεν σας χαλάει η πιο speed-άτη από το συνηθισμένο εκδοχή του Black Metal, τότε αυτός ο δίσκος είναι μια πολύ ικανοποιητική επιλογή.

When you look at the album cover or the image of this band you certainly understand that it's european.Also,an atavism of norwegian scene perches here even though a modern style soaked the album.You like a lot the thrash dis harmonic accords as well as the darkened heavy style.They may compete who will stand out but HansFryste's sharp vocals(i.e:Ragnarok )steal the show.If you don't mind about a speedier version of the original Black Metal then this album is a very satisfying option.
