Steelfest 2019: Nazi bands in Hyvinkää city facilites

"The largest black metal festival in Finland, Steelfest, will once more be held may 17th-18th 2019 at the Hyvinkään Villatehdas premises, owned by the city of Hyvinkää (a city that is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area). The festival has been arranged since 2012 and attract about 1500 daily visitors. Throughout the years, the festival has booked several NSBM bands and groups with far-right connections, such as Goatmoon, Kroda, Temnozor, Nokturnal Mortum and Peste Noire. This year they have booked Seigneur Voland, Evil, Kroda, Marduk, Mgla, Horna, Antimateria, Morgal and Kalmankantaja.

Steelfest is arranged by Steel LS Oy, a firm run by metalhead Jani Laine. Steelfest have also been arranging a smaller festival called Steelchaos since 2016, held at the Nosturi club in Helsinki. Steelchaos has also been notorious for booking bands with far-right connections; Bizarre Uproar, Marduk, Ride for Revenge and Deströyer 666. Steelfest also co-operate with distros, record labels and shops that represent NSBM and the far-right subcultures of Finland – Horror Shop, Werewolf Records and the KVLT Shop.

By continuously booking NSBM bands, artists and actors that co-operate with Steelfest are supplying fascist subcultures, actively legitimizing their politics and bringing them into the mainstream. It is time to say no to this. Contact Hyvinkää city council and the other business partners of Steelfest and tell them that this normalization of far-right ideology and economical support to open fascists cannot continue.

• ELMU ry. (a Helsinki music association that run Nosturi, the venue where the Steelchaos events are arranged)

Hi everyone sorry for no writing more, I was a bit busy.
I'm here again with my favourite style of hardcore. No muscles,no macho, not "pumped" hardcore. Shameless from the south of italy, with very cool backing vocals, melodic riffs and melancholic songs. A really great release this self titled.
In addition, they play a lot of live shows so,why not, you will probably find them one day in your city (or book them!)
"Senza vergogna" is their personal hymn and has rad lyrics: < Retake everything, renounce the worst,                                                                                             I’m fed with hate, love and dissent wild. I’m reborn like a phoenix with its heart as hostage.>

But now let me introduce you an amazing release of this year. Vvvlv and Void Forger split. They are our friends by this time and I'm honoured to talk of them. This stone comes first with a lot of sludgy doom and heavy voice: Vvvlv. I think they have a lot of resources that will show us time by time. Void Forger, of course, took care of graphics and stuffs and their track is totally rad. What to say more? Just listen to it (and read lyrics!).

Art is all about you #1

Lately the collective is full of artists that share their wonderful operas.

First let's talk about Dylan Garrett Smith of Kvoid, a painter who does really special stuff.

If any of you are located near Philadelphia, PA in the States, but if you are, he hopes to see you on February 5th at Central Tattoo Studio for the opening of his show, "What You Fear Will Come Upon You".
It's a glimpse into some of the existential fears we experience as humans and his artistic take on them.

Then Fabian of Kluizenaer and Cancer Clan with Hagiophobic is ready with Resistance volume IV.

A special mention to Ghostwood Black Ink (the same guy of Equilateral Records) who does stick&pokes really well and to Benjamin of Dotwork Orange (the same guy who organizes shows with Cvlt Of Morningstar) who does s&ps and graphics as well.

Can't believe. I really can't think about Vranac live show. Maybe I will cry.
It begins. And like a tornado takes you in the middle of this.
I can say without dubt this is my favourite split of 2014&2015 and probably of the next year too.
Svartmörke's side starts less heavy than Vranac one. But they are so fucking grim.
And the second track is my idea of what black metal need to be.
Can't believe these two fucking great bands support antifascism, antiracism and anarchy.

Interview with Iprit

Here are almost 2 pm and there 9 pm.
Siberia.

I have the luck to speak with one of my favourite band ever : Iprit.


Me: Hi Oleg how are you? We saw Iprit hold on for some months. Are them alive?

Iprit: Hi my friend. I'm fine thanks. Iprit are alive but we will not play live, I guess. For next year we plan to record some new songs. I can't say when and how much songs. The only thing I know for sure is we are not going to stop.


Me: A really great news for us! Are you playing with other bands meanwhile?

Iprit: I have two projects. Клонирование Овцы(Sheep Cloning), a crust band, but I'm not sure about  the future of this one because the guitarist who composed everything lives in another city nowadays. So we just made one recording to remember those songs and to let them no disappeared.
And the second one is Solar Kite. This is an electronic project, something like dark ambient or dark wave; but with some black metal influences. At least people say that. We released an album in october and we work on new songs and prepare for a live show.


Me: Very cool! Would you tell us something about political situation of Siberia?

Iprit: No squat over here. At least in Siberia. Maybe I just do not know about squats in this city or nearby. But it's not that easy to squat places when your winter lasts for 5 months. I'm not sure if it's worth it. It would be cool to have an autonomic zone inside a state, but that's not worth it to have all of troubles if you can spent your time for something you can really do instead wasting time for nothing.


Me: Yeah.. You're right.. Hope it will change soon. What about music there?

Iprit: I think ther are more bands in neighbor cities Novosibirsk and Tomsk. Some of local bands are well-known in Russia. I Witness, Neverending Winter for example. New bands also coming up.


Me: Thanks to share them with us.

Iprit: Just one thing before the end. I wish you to keep your eyes and mind opened. We usually see only what we want see but world is more complicated than we think. And remember that everything has its end.


Me: Really thanks. I will carry this forever with me.

Twilight Fauna are back with their fifth album. Complete with densely layered guitars, minimalist drums, haunting vocals, acoustic folk, and gorgeous tin whistle, this full-length will have you immersing yourself in a cold Appalachian pond fed by a roaring waterfall. Paul always manages to wrap you completely with atmosphere. This album is no exception. Interview with Escvro

Good news from The Dark Skies Above Us Collective.
A new compilation will be released soon and a lot of new bands join the alliance.

In the last days I had the fortune of meet a very great and kvlt man: Escvro.
This is some of what we said.

Me: What's the age of escvro?

Escvro: Escvro is a very young project, was founded in later 2014, has just 1 year.


Me: How we can name what you play?

Escvro: I have an anarchist approach towards music production and distribution, but I'm not what you'd call a "political anarchist". As well as, Escvro doesn't deals directly with politics in its lyrics. Escvro is a non-profit, anti-commercial and anti-mainstream project, but its lyrical themes are, mainly, nihilism and existentialism.


Me: Can you tell me more about your anti-commercial idea?

Escvro: I had that anti-commercial movement idea because the "mainstream logic" is infiltrating the underground. I think the underground should be completely opposed to the mainstream, not just including the music itself, but its distribution. Here in my area there is a good underground scene, but I think it's a little expansive to attend shows and buy band's stuff, so I decided to make things a little different.

Me: When u will release something more?

Escvro: I'll release an EP in january of 2016.

Regnvm Animale are back with an excellent album. The Jens and Jörgen duo are in full stride with this album. Their crusty black metal / blackened crust is spiced up through their unique use of melody. The melodic side of Et Sic In Infinitum is so refreshing in a genre that’s so concerned with “atmosphere” that it sometimes forgets to utilize lead lines. I love how Regnvm Animale songs always twist and turn through alternating twin guitar lead lines and just straight awesome riffs. Their signature guitars and vocal style are really their own. The blend really captured me after the initial listen. I can see where the band got their influences from, but their music stands out and entrances, instead of falling into the pack of new black metal bands and being lost. If you’re looking for a band that’s different (to my ears at least), interesting, and extremely socially conscious then I demand you check out Regnvm Animale. Svpport this great band. You can find them on the Resistance and Crushing Intolerance compilations as well.
