Eξι χρόνια θέριζε το Underground μέχρι που υπέγραψε στην Vendetta Records (δισκογραφικοί σκάουτερς τσέκαρε) και να γίνει ευρέως γνωστός. Το άλμπουμ έχει άψογες ρυθμίσεις στα φωνητικά στις κιθάρες στα ΠΑΝΤΑ.  Αν δεν σου αρέσει η ψευτογοτθηκή αισθητική αλλά η αυθεντική μαύρη ατμόσφαιρα δεν θα μετανιώσεις ούτε στο ελάχιστο.

For six consecutive years Underground was thriving till he signed for Vendetta Records (look for disc spies) and became famous. The album contains excellent parts in vocals, guitars and in general in EVERYTHING. If you prefer pure black atmosphere and not something like gothic, then you will not regret at all.

Mavradoxa recently released their first full-length album entitled “Sojourners.” The aptly titled album will definitely let you reside inside it for a while. It takes you away to a new place while it’s playing. Mavradoxa is from Rochester, New York, a city surrounded by woods and water, so it comes as no surprise that the music gives you that exact feeling. Dense forests and frozen Lake Ontario come to mind through vivid atmospheres painted by the guitars. The guitar work on this album is very interesting for a black metal album. Instead of your traditional tremolo riffs and blast beats, Mavradoxa opts for mid-tempo plodding guitar riffs that seem to fit somewhere between Agalloch and Alcest. In fact, Mavradoxa uses tremolo so infrequently that it really highlights those melodies when they do finally break out. Those melodic tremolo riffs wind their way into your head and stick there long after the album is done. In general the band sounds extremely in sync. Many times the guitar work is so tied to the drumming that it offers additional freedom for the bass to wander and bring in very memorable bass lines instead of being drowned out like so many black metal bands chose to do or being forced to accompany the drumming the entire album. If you’re looking to get sucked into a black metal forest Mavradoxa’s “Sojourners” is an album you need to check out. This is definitely a band to watch out for if their first album is this immersive, powerful, and polished.

Έχουμε να κάνουμε με δυο θηριώδεις μπάντες : από την μια Krawwl με τις Post Black τεχνικές στον κορμό και τα υψίφωνα φωνητικά και από την άλλη οι Barshasketh  με πιο τραχύ και σαρωτικό ήχο . Κοινός παρονομαστής είναι η πομπώδης ατμόσφαιρα και  η συνάντηση  μοντέρνου- παραδοσιακού.  Η νίκη ίσως κριθεί στα σημεία.

Usually the bands that tend to follow antisocial Black Metal, are aweseome. Especially, if they originate from Cascadia then we reach a new level. Gedden is a Metal hero that gives everything he has to this wonderful album Every song – light to the penumbra of Leviathan.

The main feeling off the album is nostalgia. The Dead Limbs is an unknown band with huge potential. Music maturity supersedes of their experience in the field off Black Metal. Their Post Black is very cautious and instant. The lighthouse lights up during the storm…

Ashbringer - Vacant [2015]

Ashbringer is a very apt name for this project. They bring forth bleak atmospheres and spew vocals like ash from a volcano. But that's not all, each song takes different turns and brings out fantastic moods of all kinds. This is my type of black metal, the kind that grabs you and takes you on a journey. Vacant escorts you to some abysmal locations and then brings you back to the grandeur of nature. As is evident by the cover art, Vacant is woodsy yet dark, angry yet melancholic. A tragicpiece. The only tiny qualm I have with this album is the clean singing. Though many people enjoy clean singing in black metal, it usually distracts from the atmosphere for me. Luckily clean vocals are used sparingly on Vacant, so it doesn't detract much from the album.

Οι Harrow βρίσκονται σε πραγματικό μουσικό οίστρο.  Αρχές του 2015 και έχουν κυκλοφορήσει ήδη ένα φουλ άλμπουμ και ένα Ep . To μαυροντυμένο φόλκ που παίζουν είναι αριστούργημα . Αν ο καλός δίσκος φαίνεται από το πρώτο κομμάτι ,άκουσε  το pathways και θα με θυμηθείς.

The Harrow is on fire, in music terms of course. It’ still early in the 2015 and they have already published an album and an Ep. The pessimistic folk style that they follow is truly a masterpiece. If the first song shows a hint for the rest of the album, then you should listen to the pathways and you will have your conclusion.

Υπάρχουν κάτι μπάντες που ενώ έχουν όλα τα χαρακτηριστικά του Black Metal το αποτέλεσμα δεν βγαίνει καταθλιπτικό αλλά αισιόδοξο. Οι Hamleypa είναι απ αυτούς τους τύπους. Έχουν ασχοληθεί πολύ με τις συγχορδίες ,τις λεπτομέρειες και γενικά τα  Intelligent Metal στοιχεία του δίσκου. Είναι καλοί ,αν και θα προτιμούσα την τονικότητα των φωνητικών λίγο πιο ψηλά.

There are some bands that have all the genuine characteristics of Black Metal, but the final result is no depressing but optimist. The Hamleypa are of these guys. They have dealt a lot with chords, specific details and in general all the intelligent Metal side of disc. They are very good, even though I would prefer the tonality of the vocals a bit higher.

Τον τελευταίο καιρό μπήκα στην διαδικασία να ακούσω διάφορες συλλογές. Η συλλογή του Black Metal Αlliance νομίζω ότι μου κέρδισε το ενδιαφέρον. Οι μπάντες έχουν δώσει τον καλύτερο τους εαυτό. Και εστιάζω όχι επειδή ο LifeSuspend  παίζει στους Ü αλλά επειδή είναι πραγματικά καλή σύμπραξη όλων των σχημάτων ( και το πιστεύω).  Επίσης, είναι ευχάριστο που ο  ακραίος ήχος που ασχολείται και με πιο ευαίσθητα θέματα. Τα χρήματα της συλλογής  προορίζονται για 350 που ασχολείται  με την κλιματική αλλαγή. Όπως και να χει μην παραβλέψετε πως εδώ ελλοχεύουν 22 σπουδαίες μπάντες.

In the last days I have started listening to a variety of collections. The one of Black Metal Alliance has got my attention. The bands have given their best. I have chosen that not because LifeSuspend is at the Ü , but really is a great collaboration of all the bands. Also, it is pleasant that this extreme sound deals with more sensitive themes. The money of collection is to be given for 350 org involved in the climatic change. But either way do not overlook that we have 22 great bands in this collection.
