Hi everybody. Here I am again. I had really no free time. I moved from my house, organized tdsau fest I (a bomb!) and tdsau benefit comp. No way. But now let me introduce you an amazing release of this year. Vvvlv and Void Forger split. They are our friends by this time and I'm honoured to talk of them. This stone comes first with a lot of sludgy doom and heavy voice: Vvvlv. I think they have a lot of resources that will show us time by time. Void Forger, of course, took care of graphics and stuffs and their track is totally rad. What to say more? Just listen to it (and read lyrics!).

Can't believe. I really can't think about Vranac live show. Maybe I will cry.
It begins. And like a tornado takes you in the middle of this.
I can say without dubt this is my favourite split of 2014&2015 and probably of the next year too.
Svartmörke's side starts less heavy than Vranac one. But they are so fucking grim.
And the second track is my idea of what black metal need to be.
Can't believe these two fucking great bands support antifascism, antiracism and anarchy.
Long long life to russian cold winter.

Interview with Iprit

Here are almost 2 pm and there 9 pm.
Siberia.
The cold.
-20 celsium degrees.
I have the luck to speak with one of my favourite band ever : Iprit.


Me: Hi Oleg how are you? We saw Iprit hold on for some months. Are them alive?

Iprit: Hi my friend. I'm fine thanks. Iprit are alive but we will not play live, I guess. For next year we plan to record some new songs. I can't say when and how much songs. The only thing I know for sure is we are not going to stop.


Me: A really great news for us! Are you playing with other bands meanwhile?

Iprit: I have two projects. Клонирование Овцы(Sheep Cloning), a crust band, but I'm not sure about  the future of this one because the guitarist who composed everything lives in another city nowadays. So we just made one recording to remember those songs and to let them no disappeared.
And the second one is Solar Kite. This is an electronic project, something like dark ambient or dark wave; but with some black metal influences. At least people say that. We released an album in october and we work on new songs and prepare for a live show.


Me: Very cool! Would you tell us something about political situation of Siberia?

Iprit: No squat over here. At least in Siberia. Maybe I just do not know about squats in this city or nearby. But it's not that easy to squat places when your winter lasts for 5 months. I'm not sure if it's worth it. It would be cool to have an autonomic zone inside a state, but that's not worth it to have all of troubles if you can spent your time for something you can really do instead wasting time for nothing.


Me: Yeah.. You're right.. Hope it will change soon. What about music there?

Iprit: I think ther are more bands in neighbor cities Novosibirsk and Tomsk. Some of local bands are well-known in Russia. I Witness, Neverending Winter for example. New bands also coming up.


Me: Thanks to share them with us.

Iprit: Just one thing before the end. I wish you to keep your eyes and mind opened. We usually see only what we want see but world is more complicated than we think. And remember that everything has its end.


Me: Really thanks. I will carry this forever with me.

Iprit: My pleasure.

Shadow Lake reminds me the great trilogy of Ulver.
"Absconding Into Twilight" is my favourite track.
You can immediately understand there is tecnique behind this.
While i'm writing they released a new track for Crushin Intolerance volume 4.

Seems we will see some good ones.

Twilight Fauna are back with their fifth album. Complete with densely layered guitars, minimalist drums, haunting vocals, acoustic folk, and gorgeous tin whistle, this full-length will have you immersing yourself in a cold Appalachian pond fed by a roaring waterfall. Paul always manages to wrap you completely with atmosphere. This album is no exception. As with most of Twilight Fauna's releases, this one teeters on the border between black metal and a kind of heavily distorted dark ambient. But the sound is not all bleak. The addition of folk guitars and tin whistle offer a lighter and more delicate side to this thick atmospheric mountain fog. If you're searching for some really unique black metal, that has no need for blast beats, check out Shadows of Ancestors. Paul is an organizer of the Crushing Intolerance Anti-NSBM charity compilations, so you know his heart is in the right place as well.

Interview with Escvro

Good news from The Dark Skies Above Us Collective.
A new compilation will be released soon and a lot of new bands join the alliance.

In the last days I had the fortune of meet a very great and kvlt man: Escvro.
This is some of what we said.

Me: What's the age of escvro?

Escvro: Escvro is a very young project, was founded in later 2014, has just 1 year.


Me: How we can name what you play?

Escvro: I have an anarchist approach towards music production and distribution, but I'm not what you'd call a "political anarchist". As well as, Escvro doesn't deals directly with politics in its lyrics. Escvro is a non-profit, anti-commercial and anti-mainstream project, but its lyrical themes are, mainly, nihilism and existentialism.


Me: Can you tell me more about your anti-commercial idea?

Escvro: I had that anti-commercial movement idea because the "mainstream logic" is infiltrating the underground. I think the underground should be completely opposed to the mainstream, not just including the music itself, but its distribution. Here in my area there is a good underground scene, but I think it's a little expansive to attend shows and buy band's stuff, so I decided to make things a little different.

Me: When u will release something more?

Escvro: I'll release an EP in january of 2016.

The third collection of the Dark Skies Above Us is completed. All the revenues will be disposed at caravana43   , which deals with the case of the murdered / missing students at Ayoyzinapa. As for the music part , it is positive that Black Metal legends engage with sociopolitical themes. I can see the idiom evolving day by day , leaving behind every kind of music conservative . The collection has the perfect answer for each state and fascists and we are still at the beginning…

Cuscuta - A Receding Wild (2014)

Only two tracks in length (though they are lengthy tracks at 18:29 and 20:52), yet Cuscuta gets their message across perfectly. With hauntingly powerful black metal, Cuscuta tells a dark tale of how mankind has become separated from nature. The mournful cries of Evergreen are even more poignant due to the fact that his other Rocky Mountain Black Metal project, Evergreen Refuge, is completely instrumental. This welling of dissatisfaction with civilization—and mankind’s separation from the natural world—burst out of him, creating a new project to express this anger, frustration, and sorrow.
Samples from John Zerzan are aptly used to highlight these themes:
“I’d like to see a gigantic project of dismantling. Of just getting rid of all this stuff and tearing up the freeways and roads and just getting rid of all this stuff that rests on the destruction f nature—that separates us from the natural world—that has people on this treadmill to constantly work and constantly consume. . . ”
The songs move between the ominous atmospheres of the softer sections and the harsh distorted blasts of the lengthy black metal sections (and even some more doomy parts) seamlessly and without disrupting the overall mood. Occasionally a more melodic section will come along, yet it’s always appropriately dark. Evergreen really focused his dark mood for this album. Nothing seems out of place.

Another collective's band, Rütäbägä comes with this totally kvlt album. The two piece crust punk will appear in the next volume of Resistance: ANTI-NSBM.
Book Of Daedra side comes like a bomb in the ears. Really appreciate black metal style.
After only three tracks is the time for some evil black metal oriented crust punk. Also only three tracks but fully of rage.

Their lyrics are expressive of their politics with themes such as climate change, hatred of bigotry in all forms, consumerism, lack of community and antifascism as an integral part of the project.

They are part of Crushing Intolerance Volume 2.

I like so much this type of blackmetal/screamo and expect very much from them. Hope for more great news.
