Σκεφτόμουν καιρό να γράψω άρθρο για τους Mummrah αλλά ήθελα να τους δω και ζωντανά για να έχω σφαιρική άποψη. Το “I Tragodia Pou Legetai Anthropos “ είναι ένας απ’ τους καλυτέρους δίσκους της χρονιάς που πέρασε.  Το συναίσθημα της οργής πορεύεται παράλληλα με τα μελωδικά  leads και το αποτέλεσμα εκρηκτικό. Δεν έχει να ζηλέψει τίποτα από οποιαδήποτε Crust κυκλοφορία της χρονιάς.

I wanted to write an article for the Mummrah, but I wanted to see them performing live so I could have a thorough view. The “Tragodia Pou Legetai Antrhopos” (The Tragedy called Human) is one of the best albums of the year passed by. The feeling of rage is moving along with the harmonious lead guitars and the result is thrilling. There is nothing to compare than the other Crust albums of the year.

Στο μεσοδιάστημα του νωτιαίου μυελού μου έχουν κάτσει σαν σφήνα  HC-Screamo μπάντες με αποτέλεσμα review σαν αυτά. Οι καλαματιανοί  Minerva Superduty είναι μια απ’ τις μπάντες που δεν τους χωράνε τα Ελληνικά σύνορα. Ο ήχος είναι πέρα για πέρα σύγχρονος και φαίνεται να έχει πέσει πολύ δουλειά στο Unreal Studios. Καθολικά προσεγμένος δίσκος με έμφαση στην λεπτομέρεια .

In the center of my spinal cord HC-Screamo bands have taken the place and as a result we have reviews like the aforementioned. The Minerva Superduty from Kalamata is a band that is very skillful for the Greek borders. The sound is modern and shows the hard work that has been done in Unreal Studios. Attention to every detail and a great result as a whole.

Η μουσική έχει  την μαγεία  σε κάνει να αισθάνεσαι ότι βρίσκεσαι σε δυο διαφορετικά σημεία ταυτόχρονα. Με το που πατάς το play στους  Ramaskri βρίσκεσαι Σουηδία ,  αυτό ήταν.  Είναι άτομα που  να κραστάρουν σε υπόγεια αντίστοιχα με αυτά που γουστάρω να συχνάζω εγώ. To ίδιο κοινό, οι ίδιοι άνθρωπο είναι εκεί μαζί με μένα και περνάμε καλά. Αυτός ο συγχρωτισμός, είναι βιωματικός και ο Crust-er ξέρω ότι θα  με καταλάβει.

Music has the ability to make you feel that you are in two different places at the same time. The moment you press “play” at the Ramaskri you travel to Sweden – as simple as that. These guys crust-ing in underground places similar to that  I also like to hang out. The audience – same guys like me – is there and having the best time. You can comprehend the interaction only by experience and I know the Crust-er feels the same.

Mavradoxa recently released their first full-length album entitled “Sojourners.” The aptly titled album will definitely let you reside inside it for a while. It takes you away to a new place while it’s playing. Mavradoxa is from Rochester, New York, a city surrounded by woods and water, so it comes as no surprise that the music gives you that exact feeling. Dense forests and frozen Lake Ontario come to mind through vivid atmospheres painted by the guitars. The guitar work on this album is very interesting for a black metal album. Instead of your traditional tremolo riffs and blast beats, Mavradoxa opts for mid-tempo plodding guitar riffs that seem to fit somewhere between Agalloch and Alcest. In fact, Mavradoxa uses tremolo so infrequently that it really highlights those melodies when they do finally break out. Those melodic tremolo riffs wind their way into your head and stick there long after the album is done. In general the band sounds extremely in sync. Many times the guitar work is so tied to the drumming that it offers additional freedom for the bass to wander and bring in very memorable bass lines instead of being drowned out like so many black metal bands chose to do or being forced to accompany the drumming the entire album. If you’re looking to get sucked into a black metal forest Mavradoxa’s “Sojourners” is an album you need to check out. This is definitely a band to watch out for if their first album is this immersive, powerful, and polished.

The Dark Skies Above Us- Loudness Against Tav

H 6η συλλογή μας ολοκληρώθηκε. Στο μεν μουσικό μέρος ,θα έλεγα ότι είναι ότι πιο Speed-ατο έχουμε κυκλοφορήσει. Hardcore, Crust και Black Punk έχουν την τιμητική τους ,εδώ. Στο δε πολιτικό ,τα έσοδα θα δοθούν στον αγώνα ενάντια στην κατασκευή υπερτραχείας (No Tav Movement) καθώς το μαφιόζικο Ιταλικό κράτος συνεχίζει να κάνει εξώσεις ,να φυλακίζει συντρόφους να πραγματοποιεί περιβαλλοντική καταστροφή.  Η σκηνή μας είναι ζωντανή- και πιστέψτε μας προσφέρεται για γράψιμο - αλλά η αλληλεγγύη μπουσουλάει ακόμα . Να ευχαριστήσουμε τις μπάντες που ακόμα μια φορά που δέχτηκαν αναντίρρητα να συμμετάσχουν, επίσης τον Lifesuspended και DeafestChase για την εξαιρετική δουλειά.

Καμιά διαπραγμάτευση με το κράτος- ούτε βήμα πίσω, ΝΟ ΤΑV.

Our 6th collection has just been completed. As for the music part, i would call it as "Speed-est", we have released it. Hardcore, Crust and Black Punk are leading. For the political side, all the revenues will be donated for the fight against the high speed train (No Tav Movement), since the Italian government- an the mafia side of it- keep making evictions, sending comrades to jail and polluting the environment. Our stage is alive- and believe us is available for publishing- and our solidarity is still on. Great thanks to the bands that once more offered to participate without question, and to the Lifesuspended and DeafestChase for their great job.

No negotiation with the government - not even a step behind, NO TAV.

Glen and Precipice by Deafest

On February 23rd 2016, Deafest released "Glen and Precipice" their fourth full-length album. As some of you may or may not know, Deafest, a black metal group from Colorado, United States; is all about nature, and the landscapes that portray true beauty. This new release starts off strong with the pure raw Deafest sound we've all come to know and love, while carrying a new kind of clarity that previous releases may not have been so prevalent with. If you take the time to listen through Deafest's entire discography you'll hear the transformations just as you've seen nature change, and the earth change with each passing day. Chase of Deafest is very much an active member in The Black Metal Alliance, as well as The Dark Skies Above Us, which I can say I've had the honor and the privilege of working alongside him with TDSAU's Resistance Anti-NSBM Compilation Volume IV, as well as the BMA's Crushing Intolerance Volume III. Truly a great musician, but most importantly a great person. Now to return from my digression; "Glen and Precipice" is an astound work of art, that I hold very close to my heart, there are so many emotions captured within the riffs of this short masterpiece. I very much truly mean masterpiece as well; this album will take you on an emotional journey through the valleys, "Hollers" over mountain tops soaring high into the bright sunlight to leave you back down in the valley in the furthest reaches from the warmth of the sun. Where your heart will ache and mourn for our beautiful earth, as you sit back and watch humanity destroy the one thing they have left; then when the chords and the atmosphere lifts your spirits again, you'll sit high above the mountain tops at one with nature. The Dark Skies Above Us - Resistance: ANTI​-​NSBM Volume 4

Ορμώμενοι από το γράμμα του Francesco Puglisi ( συλληφθέντα από τον  Ιούνιο του 13’) η κοινότητα του The Dark Skies Above Us αποφάσισε να στείλει τα έσοδα στην οικογένεια της κοπέλας και συντρόφου του – Paola Ferla ,για την κάλυψη των εξόδων της κηδεία της. Εγώ από την μεριά μου, θα ήθελα ευχαριστήσω τον LifeSuspended και τις μπάντες για την ανιδιοτελή οργάνωση και προθυμία τους στο παρών εγχείρημα .

Interview With Allochiria

Συνέντευξη με τους Allochiria

Είμαι δηλωμένος «οπαδός» των Allochiria . Το Post Sludge που παίζουν τις καθιστά μια απ τις καλύτερες μπάντες στην Ελλάδα αναντίρρητα. Ο τελευταίος δίσκος «Omonoia», ένα ευρωπαϊκό tour στην Ευρώπη καθώς και επερχόμενος δίσκος (τον οποίον τον stream-αραν κιόλας) δείχνουν ότι είναι μια μπάντα που ΔΕΝ ΓΙΝΕΤΑΙ να αγνοηθεί.

Ας ξεκινήσουμε λοιπόν :

1.       Πείτε μας για τον νέο σας δίσκο . Σε ποιο στάδιο βρίσκεστε ?

Έχουμε σχεδόν τελειώσει με τις ηχογραφήσεις και ήδη η μίξη των κομματιών βρίσκεται σε καλό στάδιο. Ελπίζουμε πως κατά το φθινόπωρο-χειμώνα φέτος θα είμαστε έτοιμοι.

2. Βλέπουμε ότι το Post είναι στην ακμή του και αυτό είναι πολύ ευχάριστο. Ποια η γνώμη σας?

Είναι ωραίο όταν ο κόσμος ενδιαφέρεται να ακούσει διαφορετική μουσική από αυτά που άκουγε πάντα, οποιοδήποτε κι αν είναι αυτό το είδος. Σίγουρα σαν μπάντα που κινείται προς τον post-metal ήχο, βλέπουμε άλλη αντιμετώπιση στη μουσική μας, κι αυτό, αν μη τι άλλο, θετικό είναι και μας αρέσει, παρόλο που δεν έπαιξε ποτέ ρόλο στο πώς γράφουμε τη μουσική μας.

3.  Στην συναυλία σας με τους Altar of Plagues και τους Year of No Light είδα κόσμο που δεν σας ήξερε ,να παραμιλάει από ευχαρίστηση. Πως είναι να είσαι στο ίδιο σανίδι με τόσο μεγάλες μπάντες?

Η εμπειρία είναι σίγουρα δυνατή και είναι τιμή μας να παίζουμε μαζί με καταξιωμένα συγκροτήματα. Το ωραίο είναι όταν γνωρίζεις αυτούς τους ανθρώπους από κοντά, και βλέπεις ότι έχουν κι αυτοί δουλειές, οικογένειες, δυσκολίες και ζωή χωρίς ροκσταριλίκια, και τότε είναι που ανεβαίνουν περισσότερο στα μάτια σου.

4. Η μουσική σας μου βγάζει πολύ οργή , συναίσθημα και πνευματικότητα. Οι εξελίξεις στην Ελλάδα , ποσό έχουν επηρεάσει την μπάντα στον τομέα της έμπνευσης  και της σύνθεσης?

Το περιβάλλον και η κοινωνία που ζούμε οπωσδήποτε μας επηρεάζουν, δε ζούμε σε μια γυάλα. Όταν γράφουμε μουσική και στίχους, θέλουμε είτε να ξεφύγουμε από τον κόσμο, είτε να τον περιγράψουμε. Όταν γράφουμε για την κατάντια του ανθρώπου, τη σχιζοφρένεια, την απελπισία του, τότε ναι, η ευρύτερη κοινωνικοπολιτική κατάσταση έχει παίξει το ρόλο της.

5. Εκτός από το πολύ καλό project τους  Anticluster και τον επικείμενο δίσκο  ετοιμάζετε τίποτα άλλο αυτό το διάστημα ?

Ο Σταύρος και η Ειρήνη συνεργάστηκαν το 2015 με τον Βασίλη Γκογκίδη από τους Vygotsky Circle στο προσωπικό του project “The Dandelion Fields”, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε σε split κασέτα με τον Ghone. Φέτος επίσης συμμετείχαν σε καινούριο project του Βασίλη, το οποίο προβλέπεται να κυκλοφορήσει τους επόμενους μήνες. Ο Στέφανος επίσης εδώ και μερικούς μήνες είναι μέλος και των Valletta Str. Project.

Interview With Allochiria

I am a declared fan of Allochiria. Their Post Sludge makes them  undeniably one of the best bands in Greece. Their last album «Omonoia», a European tour and an upcoming album (which the have already streamed) show that they are a band that cannot be ignored.

Let's start:

1. Tell us about your new album. At what stage you?

We have almost finished the recordings already and the mixing of the tracks is well underway. We hope that in this year's  autumn/winter we will be ready.

2. We see that the Post genre is on the rise and it is very pleasant. What is your opinion?

It's nice when people are interested in listening to different music than they listened before, whichever genre it might be. Certainly as a band moved to the post-metal sound, we see a different attitude towards our music, and that, if anything, is positive and we like it, although it has never played a role in how we write our music.

3. In your concert with Altar of Plagues and Year of No Light I saw people who did not know you, going crazy for you. How does it feel to be on the same stage with such great bands?

This experience is certainly intense and it is our honor to play with renowned bands. The nice thing is when you get to know these people and see that they also have jobs, families, difficulties and a life without a bullshit rock star attitude and that makes you respect them more.

4. Your music puts me much anger, emotion and spirituality. How much have the recent developments in Greece influenced the band in terms of inspiration and composition?

The environment and the society we live in certainly affect us, we do not live in a fishbowl. When we write music and lyrics, we either want to get away from the world or to describe it. When writing about the downfall of man, his schizophrenia, his hopelessness, then yes, the broader socio-political situation has played its role.

5. In addition to the very good project Anticluster and its upcoming album, do you prepare anything else?

Stavros and Irene worked in 2015 with Vasilis Gogidis from Vygotsky Circle in his personal project "The Dandelion Fields", which has released a split tape with Ghone. This year they also participated in a new project of Vasilis, which will be released in the coming months. Stephen is also a member of Valletta Str. Project  for several months now.
