Βρισκόμαστε στα ’90s, ο Varg Vikernes στέλνει σε διάφoρους Σουηδούς χίπηδες Death-άδες, απειλητικά γράμματα για την «φλώρικη» μουσική τους(εκτός από τις άλλες μαλακίες που κάνει). Που να ήξερε όμως ,ότι στα ’00s, οι Σουηδοί είναι τα πιο πιστά τέκνα του Quorthon και γουστάρουν να παίζουν  Black Metal ; Νιώσε το παγωμένο στα μούσια χιόνι, από τον καιρό, και την πεζοπορία. Δες Viking που βάζουν φωτιές στο κρύο και την αδυναμία. Άκου, να παντρεύονται μπάσα και τύμπανα σαν τσεκούρια στο αμόνι. Ο δίσκος, είναι ένα καλό Extended Play όποτε, για συνολική απόλαυση ακούστε το ομώνυμο άλμπουμ. Η διασκευή στο «Freezing Moon» δεν είναι άσχημη, αλλά ποιος να συγκριθεί  με τον απόκοσμο «Attila Csihar» ή τον μανιοκαταθλιπτικό «Dead»? Πάντως, είναι αρκούντως ψυχροί σε ζεστές μέρες και εδώ στην Αθήνα  μια παγωμένη ανάσα είναι κάτι παραπάνω από αναζωογονητική...

We find ourselves back in the 90's where Varg Vikernes sends intimidating letters to various Swedish hippy death metallers for being too "soft" (among many other stupid things he did). But he couldn't have known that in the 00s, Swedens are the most loyal children of Quorthron and like black metal. Feel the cold freezing your beard and the hiking hurting your bones Listen basslines and drums pound cordinated like hammers on anvils. This release is a good EP but you ought to listen to their self-titled album too. The cover on "Freezing Moon" ain't bad, but who can be compared with the mighty Attila Chisar and the maniocatathliptic Dead? That aside, they are cold enough for the hot summer days we endure here in Athens. A cold breath, quite revitalising...

Κατευθείαν από τα στούντιο της «Southern Lord» ( βλέπε: Wolves In The Throne Room, Sunn O ))), Probot) , μας έρχονται οι Agrimonia. Είναι απ τα σχήματα, που δεν έχουν έωλη συμπεριφορά αν και Crust-άρουν δυνατά. Αντίθετα, ένας κύμα  φρεσκάδας διαποτίζει στίχους και μουσική. Πως θα μπορούσα να μην αναφερθώ ότι ο  μπασίστας, εν ονόματι Martin ,που έπαιζε κιθάρα  σε μια άγνωστη μπάντα , πως τους λένε να δεις, εμμμ...ΑΤ ΤΗΕ GATES, είναι αρχιτέκτονας του δίσκου.H  Christina ,βγάζει τα λαρύγγια της  θυμίζοντας την Angela Gossow από τους Arch Enemy. Τέλος, ένας ντράμερ -πόλος που συντονίζει τις επιρροές των υπολοίπων. Και δεν είναι το τελευταίο κάτι το εύκολο. Στο Rites Of Seperation θα δείτε από Black Metal σημαίες, μέχρι Sludge ποιητικά απόβαρα και Crossover αισθητικές. Αρνήσου το, αν μπορείς.

Agrimonia come directly from the «Southern Lord» studio (see: Wolves In The Throne Room, Sunn O))), Probot). One of the bands that doesn't show weak behavior even though they crust loudly.On the contrary, a wave of freshness soaks through the lyrics and the music. How could I not mention that the bassist named Martin played guitar in an unknown band, what's their name, emmm ... AT THE GATES,is the architect of the album.Christina using her throat reminding Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy. Finally,the drummer coordinates the influences of the rest. And last but not least.In Rites Of Seperation you will find from Black Metal flags to Sludge lyrical tare and Crossover aesthetics. Deny it if you can.

Οι Stilla είναι μια τετραμελής μπάντα που σχηματίστηκε το 2011 και αυτή είναι η πρώτη της κυκλοφορία. Στη μπάντα συμμετέχουν οι J. Marklund και A. Petterson των De Arma και ο Par Stille, ο άνθρωπος πίσω από το black metal project Bergraven. Οι στίχοι της μπάντας έχουν να κάνουν με τη φύση. Ο δίσκος έχει μια πολύ όμορφη απόκοσμη ατμόσφαιρα και μουσικά έχουμε ένα καλοπαιγμένο σκανδιναβικού τύπου bm με πολύ καλοβαλμένη δόση από synyhs και μοναδικά στοιχεία που ξεδιπλώνονται ιδιαίτερα στο εξαιρετικό "Hinsides dagen". Εξαιρετικοί μουσικοί, πολύ καλό ντεμπούτο.

Stilla is a four-piece act, formed in 2011 and this is its first release. The band features J.Marklund and A. Petterson from De Arma and Par Stille from the one-man black metal project Bergraven. The band's lyrics are inspired by natural themes. The album has a beautiful weird atmosphere and musically we have some very well-executed scandinavian bm with a well-put dose of synths and unique elements that shine in the album's masterpiece, "Hinsides dagen". Excellent musicians, great debut album.

Λοιπόν δε ξέρω πολλά πράγματα για τούτο εδώ, εκτός ότι πρόκειται για one-man project και πως ο δημιουργός φαίνεται εξαιρετικά νέος... Όπως και να έχει μπορώ να πω πως δουλειά σαν αυτήν αποδεικνύει πόσο κρίμα είναι που το ανόητο true attitude που έχουν οι μεταλάδες ακόμα και σήμερα καθιστά είδη σαν το blackgaze τόσο υποτιμημένα... Να πω επίσης πως υπάρχει περίπτωση να έχω χάσει κάποια κυκλοφορία, οπότε αν κάποιος γνωρίζει ας αφήσει ένα σχόλιο.

Ok i don't know much about this one, except the fact that this is an one-man project and that the artist looks so young... Anyway, what i can say is that music like this proves what a shame it is, that the "true" attitude that metalheads still have, makes genres like blackgaze so underestimated... I might also say that there is a possibility that i have missed a release so if anybody knows anything about that please leave a comment.

Οι Agrimonia είναι μια πενταμελής μπάντα που σχηματίστηκε το 2005. Αυτός είναι ο πρώτος τους δίσκος και έχουν κυκλοφορήσει ακόμα έναν το 2010. Στη μπάντα συμμετέχουν ο μπασίστας των θρυλικών At The Gates (Martin Larsson) και ο κιθαρίστας των φοβερών Martyrdod (Pontus). Όμορφη, σκοτεινή μουσική και εξαιρετικά βίαια γυναικεία φωνητικά.

Agrimonia are a five-piece act formed in 2005. This is their first album and they have released another one in 2010. The band features the basist of the legendary At The Gates (Martin Larsson) and the guitarist of the great band Martyrdod (Pontus). Beatuful, dark music and excellent violent female vocals.

Ερχόμενοι από την πατρίδα του μελωδικού death metal, οι SIBF αποτελούν ένα εξαιρετικό και καλοδουλεμένο μείγμα του death και black ήχου, με προσεγμένες crust πινελιές. Μπάντα με περγαμηνές, έχοντας κυκλοφορήσει ένα εξαιρετικό split με τους επίσης καταπληκτικούς Marnost και κυκλοφορώντας αυτόν τον πρώτο τους full-length δίσκο από τη δισκογραφική του Austin Lundr (Panopticon κ.α.) Ποιοτικό αναρχικό extreme metal που προτείνεται ανεπιφύλακτα. Κορυφαίες στιγμές του δίσκου τα Tomorrow Black Birds Fly και Pastures of Plenty (riffάρα...) καθώς και ο εξαιρετικός τραγουδιστής (Jens).

Hailing from the capital of melodic death metal, SIBF are an excellent and well-played mixture of black and death metal along with some touches of crust. A band with great references, having released a split with Marnost and releasing their first full-length album through Austin Lundr's (Panopticon etc.) record label. High quality anarchist extreme metal, highly recommented. Highlights of the album the tracks Tomorrow Black Birds Fly and Pastures of Plenty (great riff...) and also the excellent vocalist (Jens).
