Οι Anicon είναι αποτελούνται από τους Nolan Voss και Owen Rundquist και σχηματίστηκαν το 2010. Οι ίδιοι περιγράφουν τη μουσική τους προσέγγιση ως εξής:
" Οι Anicon αναφέρονται στην πρακτική του ανεικονισμού, δηλαδή  την αποφυγή των οπτικών αναπαραστάσεων.  Το όνομα Anicon ενσαρκώνει αυτά που δε μπορούμε να εκφράσουμε με κανέναν άλλον τρόπο, είναι μία έλλειψη της εικόνας και μία αντίληψη του αφηρημένου."
Μουσικά, ακολουθούν το μονοπάτι του αμερικάνικου black metal με διακριτικές death και doom επιρροές.. Η δουλειά στα riff είναι πολύ καλή όπως και τα φωνητικά. Αξιοσημείωτη είναι και η ποιότητα της παραγωγής που είναι αρκετά υψηλή, παρόλο που πρόκειται για την πρώτη τους κυκλοφορία.. Highlights του δίσκου για μένα, το "A Hole in the Shape of God" και τo "Lash and Ladders", ιδιαίτερα το riff στο τελευταίο τρίλεπτο.

Anicon consists of Nolan Voss and Owen Rundquist and was formed in 2010. They describe their musical approach like that:
"Anicon makes reference to the practice of aniconism or, the avoidance of visual representation. Anicon embodies what we find ourselves unable to express in any other way, it is a lack of icon and a reification of the abstract."
Musically, the follow the path of US black metal with some death and doom influences. They did a really good job on both riffs and vocals. It is also worth noting that the quality of the production is quite good, although it is just their first release. Highlights of the album, for me, are the tracks "A Hole in the Shape of God" and "Lash and Ladders", especially the riff in the last three minutes of the song.
