Essential DSBM album, Funeral is a real experience of suicide since the choice of the artwork. Ghost Bath is the practice of suicide by immerging himself in water. Yowling and crying vocals make me wanna mutilate myself. Poetical and deep lyrics (check them on bandcamp!) fill up the empty left by instrumental songs. Printed by Pest Productions (China), need more? 64 minutes of pure melancholy.

Οι Midwinter είναι μια τριμελής μπάντα που σχηματίστηκε το 2005 και έχει κυκλοφορήσει δυστυχώς μόνο αυτόν το δίσκο. Στις κιθάρες βρίσκεται ο Bloodfire, του οποίου το solo-project "Yingizarm" είδαμε σε αυτό το blog πριν λίγες μέρες. Αν σας άρεσε εκείνο θα ξετρελαθείτε με αυτό. Ο δίσκος είναι εξαιρετικός. Πολύ όμορφη σκοτεινή ατμόσφαιρα και πολύ όμορφα riffs με έναν ελαφρύ epic τόνο που κάνει η διαφορά. Καλύτερες στιγμές του δίσκου το "Northern March" και η διασκευή του "Pestkrieg". Το μόνο αδύναμο σημείο του δίσκου είναι κάποια μέρη των φωνητικών. Συνολικά ένας από τους καλύτερους δίσκους της ασιατικής bm σκηνής.

Midwinter are a three-piece act formed in 2005. Unfortunatelly, this is their only release. Bloodfire is the guitarist of the band. We took a look in his own solo project "Yingizarm" a few days ago. Well if you enjoyed that one, you will love this one. This is an excellent album. Beautiful dark atmosphere and very good riffs with an epic tone that makes a difference. Highlights of the album, the tracks "Northern March" and the cover of "Pestkrieg". The only minor setback of the album are some weak vocal parts. Overall one of the best albums of the asian bm scene.

Ας αρχίσω λίγο αντίστροφα σε αυτό το άρθρο .Κανένας από μας δεν γνωρίζει πραγματικά τους Emperor.Ποτέ δεν μας άφησαν άλλωστε να τους γνωρίσουμε .Είναι κάτι που στέκει περήφανα στο κέντρο της Black Metal  λάβας .Ακόμα και αν το status τους λέει split-up,το διαχρονικό μήνυμα τους έχει σταλθεί .Ο ‘’ Bloodfire’’(one man band πάλι) ήταν ένας καταραμένος αποδέκτης .Οι Yngizarm (σ.σ νέα πόλη) καταφέρνουν να αποδείξουν ότι ακόμα και αν ζεις στο τέλος του κόσμου (νοτιοδυτικά της Κίνας) τα εμπόδια είναι για να ξεπερνιούνται .Όποιος δεν ακούσει αυτόν τον δίσκο θα στερήσει από τον εαυτό του μια εμπειρία .ΕΙΝΑΙ ΔΙΑΜΑΝΤΙ .Ξέρω ότι πολλοί θα μου πείτε ότι αντιγράφουν το’’ In The Nightshade Eclipse’’.Αλλά εγώ θα σας πω μόνο αυτό: πως η φωτιά υπάρχει μόνο για να ανακυκλώνεται…

Υ.Γ: O Bloodfire είναι και μέλος σε εξίσου αξιόλογες μπάντες : Hellward, Midwinter, Varuna και Zuriaake .

Let me start this review the other way around. Noone of us really knows Emperor. They never let us to do so. They are somethning that proudly stands in the middle of the black metal lava. And even if they are split-up, their message has been sent. Bloodfire was one of  those damned recievers. Yngizarm manage to prove that even if you live at the end of the world (southwest China) boundaries exist to cross over them. Whoever does not listen to this album deprives himself of an experience to remember. IT IS A DIAMOND. I know a lot of you will say that they copy "In the Nightsade Eclipse". But i will tell you only this: fire exists only to be recycled...
