Η μπάντα δημιουργήθηκε το 2005 με το όνομα Geist και έχει κυκλοφορήσει 3 δίσκους. Κλασσικό ατμοσφαιρικό black metal με νορβηγική καταγωγή, εμπλουτισμένο με μελωδικά μέρη. Η μπάντα αναγκάστηκε να αλλάξει όνομα μετά τις απειλές για μηνύσεις από κάποια ηλίθια γερμανική alt-rock μπάντα με το ίδιο όνομα. Μετονομάστηκε σε Eïs το Μάρτιο του 2010.

The band was created in 2005 under the name "Geist" and has produced 3 albums. Its music combines the classic atmospheric black metal comming from Norway with very nice melodic parts. The band was forced to change its name because of legal threats from a stupid alt-rock band with the same name.. They were named Eïs in March 2010.
